Working with the UK’s Most Influential Fitness Star

Working with the UK’s Most Influential Fitness Star

Joe Wicks

We were delighted with the results of a recent campaign with Joe Wicks aka ‘The Body Coach’.  With a following of 7.8 million across all social media channels, Joe was listed by Forbes magazine as the most influential fitness star in the UK and the fifth in the world. P1 arranged the campaign for client, Heritage Le Telfair Golf and Wellness Resort in Mauritius.

We agreed with Joe prior to his trip what his output would be on each social media platform. Joe over delivered for us and we saw high levels of engagement (846,000 people) across Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter from his followers. It provided a huge boost to our client’s own social media following, showcased their wellness facilities to millions, and increased enquiry traffic tothe website to find out more about the resort.

Joe was a perfect influencer to showcase our client’s culinary offering, wellness and fitness facilities. He has built a fitness empire showing people how to get “Lean in 15.”. His concept is based on HIIT workouts and 15-minute recipes, which he shares through quick and snappy Instagram videos and cookbooks. The recipes are tasty and easy to put together, yet part of a diet plan that he credits for his own fit lifestyle.

Joe is one of a network of influencers that we work with, so if you are interested in organising a similar campaign, please get in touch with our Influencer Marketing experts.

The Impact of Brexit on Overseas Property Buyers

The Impact of Brexit on Property Buyers

What impact has the UK’s decision to leave Europe had on the Brits desire to buy an overseas home? French client Home Hunts, that has 34 agencies across France, reports that the quality of buyers has improved but the quantity has declined slightly. A property client in Austria, Kristall Spaces, who develops ski properties has reported continuing strong sales from British buyers.

Home Hunts Director Tim Swannie says; “The people who are looking seem to be serious and ready to make decisions quite quickly. Some clients want to buy their holiday home now, before the UK leaves the EU, in the hope that being a homeowner in France or Spain will help when it comes to their future freedom of movement in Europe.”

Simon Atterbury of Kristall Spaces predicts “no real change for UK buyers in the short term as we negotiate the exit and trading relationship with the EU and property purchases concluded before the exit will not be affected retrospectively.”

Having the most impact is the exchange rate but this is being eased by FX suppliers providing some good deals and some banks offering ‘back to back’ mortgages, which means that cash buyers can deposit their money in Sterling with the bank and then take a mortgage of the equivalent amount in Euros/Dollars to buy their property. The beauty of this kind of agreement is that once the pound gains some strength again, whether that is in one year or ten years, you can then pay off the mortgage in full at that point without penalties.

London Media Tour

London Media Tour

Property PR articlesWe had a productive couple of days with our client Tim Swannie, a Director of the French home buying agency Home Hunts, who made a special visit to London for a bespoke media tour we organised.

Already, this has resulted in substantial national media coverage in The Times, The Daily Telegraph and Financial Times, boosting our client’s profile.
Timing it just before the French election, for maximum media interest, we set up and accompanied our client on interviews with several leading journalists and property editors. In addition to the titles mentioned above, these also included the Evening Standard, International New York Times, French Property News and A Place in the Sun.

We pitched several story ideas and provided comments on various aspects of the French property market.

With communication now dominated by emails and the internet, we find that nothing beats a good old fashioned face-to-face meeting, and thankfully that’s now bearing fruit for our client.

Tim Swannie, Director at Home Hunts said: “Thanks very much to Vicky and the team at P1 for the hard work in setting up all of the recent press meetings in London. We had an intense two days of meetings with journalists from a wide range of publications. All the arrangements had been made beforehand and the trip went like clockwork, it was a really interesting and enjoyable couple of days.

The immediate response to the trip has been really positive, we have already seen some great results, many articles have been published which have led to some interesting enquiries and there are several more articles to come over the next couple of weeks, we also have a press trip to France booked in June for The Times which we are really looking forward to.

As well as the ongoing articles, it was really useful to meet the journalists face to face, it definitely helps to be able to put names to faces, and will no doubt make communication much smoother for future articles too. Thanks again P1, looking forward to the next London trip already.”
