Aspirational Contemporary Retirement Village in Wiltshire Launches

collage FINALWith life expectancy at birth rising in the UK on average to 78.7 years for men and 82.6 years for women, according to the Office for National Statistics (March 2014),there is an urgent need for more retirement property.  In response, Wadswick Green, a contemporary retirement village is being launched in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside; providing affordable (from £290,000) and aspirational new homes for forward-thinking over 60’s looking to ‘right-size’ rather than ‘downsize’.  It also provides savvy 40 and 50 something’s with a ‘buy-to-let’ investment until they are ready to move-in and start a new phase of life themselves.

The idea is that retirees swap unused bedrooms and oversized gardens for aspirational lifestyle services and care facilities on-tap and embrace quality hassle-free modern architecture over high-maintenance older homes.

Peter Ford, Chairman of Rangeford Holdings (Developer) says: “Older people are likely to be investing in property with their newly freed-up annuity cash following the Government’s recent reform, and Wadswick Green is providing them with an opportunity to take stock of their changing living requirements, to move to a stunning location and have a high quality of life.  We are aiming to provide a new way of living for the over 60’s and anticipating interest from the baby boomer generation who own 40% of the £2.5 trillion tied-up in property and are now receiving final salary pensions.  These baby boomers are often empty nesters that are likely to be looking to release some equity wealth or re-investing in property.”

Wadswick Green will comprise of 246, one, two or three bedroom apartments, set over 25 acres which provides owners with the luxury and therapeutic nature of open space.  The wealth of leisure amenities is a key benefit of owning a property at Wadswick Green and facilities will rival those of a five star hotel.  Owners can wake-up to enjoy sunrise on their terrace followed by a stroll to the village shop to pick-up the daily newspaper and a freshly baked croissant in the deli before a spot of gardening at the allotments or relaxing by the Village Green set among tended gardens.  Alternatively, they could have a swim in the Pavilion’s pool or try a new wellness programme devised by a personal trainer in the Village Gym before being pampered in the salon or relaxing in the new holistic spa. A perk of living in Wadswick Green also means owners can eat-out at the restaurant gastro pub or pop to the bar.

A luxury concierge-style service is provided and a discreet, personalised 24 hour care and support service will be available onsite by MHA, one of Britain’s largest and trusted charitable care providers. Conveniently, there will also be private consultation rooms for visiting GP’s.

There are two types of home in Wadswick Green – ‘Courtyard Apartments’ (697 ft2 – 1326ft2), built around a large landscaped courtyard for just the right balance of privacy and neighbourliness and ‘Pavilion Apartments’ (474 ft2 – 721 ft2) located in the central facility for ease.  The elegant Courtyard contemporary homes have effortless ergonomics eco-efficiency and luxury fittings.  All benefit from a balcony or terrace and feature double aspect, high-efficiency double-glazed windows with one view onto the countryside and another onto the courtyard –and bathing homes in natural light at all times of day.

Owners have the choice of two décor themes, Oak and Walnut.  The spacious open-plan kitchen (designed by Alno), dining and sitting rooms can accommodate large, cherished items of furniture and are perfect for hosting friends, family and the grandchildren in style.  The interior design incorporates wide aisles, low level ovens, shallow shelving, easy to use taps, wet room, step-free flooring and lifts to all apartments.  For those wishing to work from home or stay connected to loved ones there is Broadband, Wi-Fi, telephone and satellite outlets.

Located in the rolling Wiltshire countryside, on the site of the former HMS Royal Arthur Naval College that Prince Philip attended, Wadswick Green is a new village with ancient roots.  There is plenty of local life and history to enjoy which is nurtured by close links to the adjacent hamlet of Wadswick. The villages of Box, Neston andLaycockare only minutes away. The market town of Corsham and the historical city of Bath are within easy reach and owners can use Wadswick Green’s chauffeur service to access these.
