Celebrate the new ‘Finding Dory’ Film with these Marine Based Holidays

To coincide with the release of the new Finding Dory film hitting cinemas on June 17th, we have put together a selection of marine based family holidays to see some of your favourite characters come to life.

Listen to the wise words of Mr Ray in Mauritius, spot Crush and Squirt riding the waves in St Lucia or see Jacques amongst his natural habitat in Sardinia.

Heritage Awali, Mauritius

Mauritius is almost completely encircled by a barrier coral reef, home to a variety of multi-coloured fish, such as Damselfis, Trumpet, Boxfish and the rare Mauritian Clownfish as well as dolphins and eagle-rays. The island’s white beaches and turquoise lagoons offer some of the best diving in the Indian Ocean.

Heritage Awali is the perfect base for families wishing to explore the waters of Mauritius. The all-inclusive hotel is set in the Domaine de Bel Ombre in the south of the island. Kayaking, pedal boats, glass bottom boat trips and snorkelling are free of charge. Catamaran cruises and scuba diving trips are also available on-site. The hotel has a free Kids’ club with an exciting programme of activities allowing kids to learn about the characters from the film.

Heritage Resorts takes the preservation of the coastline seriously and has a “Respect our Coast” campaign. This campaign, in partnership with Reef Conservation, aims to draw attention to the fragility of Mauritius’ coastline and the many ways people can contribute to its preservation.

Heritage Awali rates: £276 per night (2 sharing) All-inclusive. Two kids under 12 sharing parents’ rooms stay free all year. (www.heritageresorts.mu ; +230 266 9768)

Cap Maison, St Lucia

St Lucia’s underwater world is a diver’s paradise, boasting pristine coral reefs and abundant marine life. It is one of the very few places in the world where divers can witness the spectacular process of coral spawning.

With Cap Maison located just five minutes from Rodney Bay, guests can easily explore the marine life of St Lucia at Scuba Steve’s Diving centre. Exploring the north side of the island, divers will spot tropical reef fish and much larger species including turtles, rays and Great Barracuda.  Families can also take part in snuba tours operating throughout the island, a combination of scuba diving and snorkelling, perfect for children or those with limited diving experience. The resort has also recently opened a new free Kids Club available for stays from the 1st July-15th September 2016.

Cap Maison rates: A garden view room at Cap Maison starts from £275 per night on a B&B basis (two sharing) (www.capmaison.com ; 020 8977 6099020 8977 6099)
