Chestertons Appointed by Grainger plcto Manage Historic Site in North London
Chestertons has been appointed by Grainger plc, the UK’s largest listed residential landlord, to manage Hornsey Road Apartments, a 150-residences strong, mixed-used development in Archway, North London, bringing Chestertons’ management portfolio to 75 sites across London.
The new agreement will take effect from 1st January 2015 and was secured by Chestertons after proving itself against the competition and following formal vetting by representatives of the residents association onsite. This builds on the successful relationship between Grainger plc and Chestertons, who are already managing a portfolio of five developments on their behalf.
David Goldberg, Head of Estate Management at Chestertons comments: “Being trusted with the management of an additional Grainger developmentis very rewarding as it confirms that our team provides the right level of services that our client and their customers require. We believe it is essential to treat each development individually in order to manage it successfully, which is why we put great emphasis on providing a personal service based on regular communication with both our clientand the residents on site.”
Hornsey Road Apartments, formerly known as Hornsey Road Baths, was built in the 1890’s and has a rich history, initially functioning as a public bathhouse and later as concert hall, meeting place, gym and boxing venue.
After being badly bombed during World War II, the site has been taken on by Grainger to undergo a major redevelopment and offer office facilities as well as 150 one, two and three bedroom apartments. Grainger has taken great care to retain and restore some of the development’s original key features such as the Grade II listed Victorian gatehouse.
