Follow the Dodo Trail with Heritage Resorts


Trail runners are set to descend on Mauritius on the 13thJuly 2014 to participate in the island’s fourth annual Dodo Trail event, an international sporting event which is growing in popularity each year.

Showcasing Mauritius’ wild side, runners on this exhilarating mountain race will be able to take in dramatic coastal views and tropical forests. Participants on the demanding 50KM Xtreme Trail will have to conquer Black River Peak, the island’s highest point, standing at an imposing 828m.

Designed to allow participants to discover Mauritius’ idyllic natural landscape, The Dodo Trail reveals much of the island’s rich endemic wildlife, and flora and fauna. With the 25km Ti Dodo Trail and the beginner friendly 10km Mini Dodo Trail, participants of all abilities, including families, will be able to enjoy the rugged beauty of the island’s West coast. With over 1,000 entries including international contestants from over 15 countries expected across the three races, 2014’s Dodo Trail is set to be bigger and better than ever before, attracting some world class athletes from around the world.
